consulting
Step 1:
This is where you have the opportunity to convey your hopes and dreams with us, as we become a part of your team. The easiest way to make certain that we are all on the same page is to bring a simple sketch of your kitchen, bath or office. We’ve provided very easy instructions. You’ll need 4 simple tools (your camera phone is one of them) and a few minutes of your time to do a rough sketch. With this in hand, we can now work together to come up with your basic plan.
Selection
Step 2:
This is where you get to play in the showroom and out in the warehouse and actually pick out the pieces that will compose your masterpiece. We recommend that you set aside a small block of time for this task, since it is highly personal and no matter how many options you’ve looked at online, once you are here in person, you will understand more fully what colors, textures, designs and surfaces appeal to you. By not feeling rushed, and considering this the “reflection” stage of your process, you’ll be able to utilize our professional team more fully. We can offer suggestions and give you insight into your palettes and choices, as well as help you distinguish between various price points and the reasoning behind them.
measuring
Step 3:
This involves one of our team members coming out and performing a technical measurement. This provides us the precise digital templates we need to guarantee that the job is done to perfection. Cabinets are also measured with our digital equipment, so that all the edges and joints fit together firmly.

Step 4:
This involves taking your chosen slab and using our exclusive Slabsmith© technology to create a replica of your finished project on screen. Using high-resolution photography, we are able to align the veins of the countertop, unlike anyone else in Mississippi. In fact, The Stone Source is the only stone distributor and tile dealer with this advanced digital imaging technology in the larger metro Jackson area! Once we are done with our digital layout, it will be time for you to review the process. This extra step gives you peace of mind that the job will be performed exactly as you envisioned it.
cutting the stone
Step 5:
This is where the magic begins! Our skilled technicians use precision tools, either a Northwood SW138 twin bed saw jet or a Sasso K600 5-axis CNC saw, to carve your stone. We have invested in cutting-edge technology to deliver you a quality piece, where every seam is aligned perfectly.
milling the stone
Step 6:
This is where any special features that apply to your project are incorporated. We use a Northwood SW-138 EDS CNC to cut out the sinks for the countertop, and any special edges or designs cut into the stone itself. Once again, our commitment to quality shines bright.
honing, polishing or leathering a slab
Step 7:
If necessary, we use the state-of-the-art Sasso Lux, which takes polishing to a whole new level. Sometimes clients want the island of a kitchen honed or leathered and the balance of the area to remain polished. The Stone Source are the only craftsmen in Mississippi to use this process.
installation
Step 8:
This is the day your dream becomes a reality. We have three install crews that perform all of the installations. We do not use subcontractors or other middlemen. With utmost care and respect, we install your stone countertops. No matter how large or small your project is, we look forward to creating it together with you.
